Bruce Kent Seminar - 12th October

Bruce Kent, Vice-President of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), will be giving a seminar on 12th October at 19.00 hrs in Seminar Room 1, Chrystal Macmillan Building. to which all staff and students in the School are welcome to attend.

Scotland's Role in the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons Although defence is reserved business to the Westminster parliament, as the site of the nuclear weapon system of the British state and with a devolved government that is anti-nuclear, what is the potential role of Scotland in assisting current moves towards global nuclear disarmament?  Bruce Kent has been campaigning against nuclear weapons since 1958 and is an astute observer of the political and social contexts that support nuclear weapons and that have to be achieved for their abolition.  He will address the part that could be played by people living in Scotland and their representatives on the international and national stage to further nuclear disarmament.
