Ingela Naumann on The Politics Show (BBC)

Dr. Ingela Naumann appeared on the BBC1 programme ‘The Politics Show – Scotland’, discussing lessons from Swedish school reforms for Scotland

On Sunday 14th March, Dr. Ingela Naumann took part in a TV debate with the Scottish Conservatives’ Shadow Minister for Children, Schools & Skills, Elizabeth Smith on BBC 1 ‘The Politics Show – Scotland’, discussing lessons from Swedish school reforms for Scotland. Elizabeth Smith had given a speech earlier in the week suggesting that Scotland should adopt the Swedish free school system. Dr. Naumann has recently completed a study on Swedish school reforms as part of an international project based at The University of Warwick on the changing governance of schools in England and Sweden.

The BBC had also interviewed Ingela Naumann and Stephan Koeppe, both members of Social Policy, prior to the programme. Stephan Koeppe is studying the Swedish free school system as part of his PhD project on welfare markets and regulatory social policy in Germany, Sweden and the US.
