Scottish Parliament Europe Committee publishes report
AOG Deputy Director Dr Daniel Kenealy was expert adviser to the committee, whose inquiry into an independent Scotland's relationship with the EU was published on 23 May.
The Scottish Parliament's European and External Relations Committee’s inquiry to examine the Scottish Government’s proposals for an independent Scotland’s membership of the European Union as set out in “Scotland’s Future” and “Scotland in the European Union" report was published recently.
The inquiry set out to examine the issues relating to an independent Scotland’s membership of the EU on the following themes:
- Scotland in the EU
- The road to membership and Scotland’s representation in the EU
- Small states within the EU
The report is published following more than five months of evidence-taking involving more than 30 witnesses giving nearly 16 hours of evidence.
Dr Daniel Kenealy, the AOG Deputy Director, was expert adviser to the Committee throughout this inquiry.
