Deep-fried Mars bar research in the news

Research by Dr Christine Knight, Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow, featured in the Scottish media this week ahead of a public lecture at the National Library of Scotland.

Christine’s project on stereotypes of the Scottish diet featured in Scotland on Sunday, warmly supported in the leader. The story also appeared in the Daily Record, The Courier, and Scottish editions of The Times and The Sun. Christine was also interviewed by Mhairi Stuart on Radio Scotland’s Newsdrive programme.

The event at the National Library of Scotland attracted an audience of 67, who enthusiastically discussed the deep-fried Mars bar. The lecture formed part of the Year of Food & Drink programme, in conjunction with the exhibition Lifting the Lid: 400 Years of Food & Drink in Scotland.
