Research on Young Players and Football Registration informs Parliamentary Debate
Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People commissioned research by Carole Ewart with Kay Tisdall (Social Policy/ CRFR), to inform Scottish Parliament debates.
In June 2014 the Scottish Parliament Public Petitions Committee (the Committee) invited Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People to review the current registration process of youth football in Scotland from a rights perspective and to include the views of children and young people. SCCYP in term commissioned Carole Ewart, with Kay Tisdall, to undertake direct research with young football players. The subsequent research findings were frequently quoted in the Scottish Parliament debate on 2nd June 2014, titled ‘Youth Football’s Contribution to Men’s and Women’s Football’.
