EUSA Teaching Awards - 2017 Winners

SPS colleagues pick up two prizes at this year's Teaching Awards.

Adding to last year's success at the awards, SPS staff, students and courses were shortlisted in three different categories including Best Personal Tutor, Best Student Who Tutors and Best Course.

Congratulations must go to Dr Rachel Howell (Sociology/Sustainable Development) for winning Best Personal Tutor and to Tim Squirrell (STIS) for winning Best Student Who Tutors.

Well done also to Lisa Schweiger, who was runner-up in the Best Student Who Tutors category; and to Rachel Howell who was runner-up in the Best Course category for her Honours course Responding to Sustainability Challenges: Critical Debates.

EUSA's Teaching Awards are designed to recognise the teachers, support staff, and peer support leaders who have made an enormous positive impact on students' learning experiences at The University of Edinburgh. The awards are voted for and judged by students themselves, making them especially important.

The event provides a great opportunity to unite students and staff and to showcase the strength of teaching within the University and within our School. We are proud that our staff have again been recognised for their continual hard work and for their commitment to the student experience.
