Jamie Cross Invited to Join RSA

Congratulations to Jamie Cross who has been invited to join the fellowship of the RSA.

The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce has invited Dr Cross to become a fellow in light of his leading work on social and cultural anthropology, focusing on technologies for energy generation and storage in places without an electricity grid.

Some of Jamie’s recent work has included:

Life off The Grid – looking comparatively at infrastructures for energy and health in parts of rural India, Papua New Guinea and Scotland.

Displaced Energy – developing qualitative approaches to energy infrastructures in refugee camps and settlements across sub Saharan Africa.

Data For All – a network exploring attempts to find value in energy data.

The RSA aims to enrich society through ideas and action; carrying out cutting-edge research across three main areas - Public Services & Communities; Creative Learning & Development; Economy, Enterprise & Manufacturing - as well as creating networks and opportunities for people to collaborate.
