Social Work Centenary Event
In conversation with Professor Jane Algate: 'At the heart of child welfare social work policy and practice for 40 years'
As part of the ongoing Social Work centenary celebrations, the School is holding a number of ‘In conversation with…’ events throughout this academic year. These are lively events, where attendees sit down with an expert, who is part of Social Work at Edinburgh’s past. After an initial discussion between the chair and the guest speaker, the event is opened up to provide an opportunity for further discussion in the form of questions and answers.
The next ‘In conversation with…’ event will be between Professor Jane Aldgate, and Dr. Gary Clapton, Senior Lecturer, University of Edinburgh, later this month.
Professor Jane Aldgate is extensively published and has a world-wide reputation as an expert in child and family welfare. She is able to comment on almost every social work development in the UK. Most recently, Professor Aldgate has advised the Scottish Government on its flagship policy Getting It Right for Every Child.
