Political Theory PhD workshop
In January 2017, PhD students from St. Andrews and Edinburgh held a one-day joint PhD Political Theory Workshop at Edinburgh
The Workshop saw a series of 50-minute sessions which involved a brief presentation from the speaker, followed by responses from two commentators and an open-floor discussion.
There were presentations on topics as diverse as comparative political theory, feminism, global justice, cosmopolitanism, genealogy, and critiques of liberalism. Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Politics and International Relations, Professor John Peterson, also gave a talk on publishing strategies.
The workshop also offered students a chance to present work-in-progress in an informal setting and receive valuable feedback from their peers.
The Workshop was funded by a Graduate School Research Student Special Project Grant and organised by Lukas Slothuus, PhD student in Politics & International Relations.
