Current Position:

Currently, I hold a postition to research and teach at the department of Transnational Legal Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Research Interests:

My work looks at the EU response to migrant flows from Libya. The work has a particular focus on the setting-up of the naval operation EUNAVFOR MED Sophia, operating on the Mediterranean High Sea. The research is concerned with the ways in which public officials manage legal and political demands and constraints in making the case for EU crisis management, as well as how they themselves make sense of their practices. Broader research interests include the politics of transnational law, humanitarian intervention, international security, public administration, sociology of knowledge, and visualizations of law.
