I am a recipient of a PhD Studentship from the Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society (SAGES), under the research theme "Transformations in Society and Environmental Policy".
Going beyond Transmission: Towards a Greater Understanding of the Transformative Potential of Sustainability Education.
1) What are the patterns of change of sustainability-related attitudes, values and behaviours in students undertaking sustainability courses and how can they be explained?
2) In what ways do personal narratives of students and teachers involved in these courses illustrate transformative learning?
3) How can we best design sustainability courses to offer transformative opportunities?
Mixed methods including longitudinal quantitative surveys, semi-structured interviews, and designing and testing innovative learning experiences against a control cohort.
