Graduate School Supports Two New PhD Scholarships
The Graduate School of Social and Political Science will be supporting two further Principal's Career Development Scholarships from September 2011.
These prestigious PhD scholarships target the brightest and best doctoral students. As well as providing financial support, the awards support students in developing their skills and building an academic CV during the course of their doctoral research by including elements of teaching, public engagement and wider engagement with academic networks.
The first of these awards were made in 2010, when the Graduate School of Social and Political Science supported scholarships for Kevin Bardosh of the Centre for African Studies and Oliver Escobar of Politics and International Relations. Oliver exemplifies the kind of positive public engagement that the award scheme encourages, through his dialogue blog and through his work on the Public Policy Network.
For more information on the award scheme, and for details on how to apply, see here.
Please note that the deadline for applications to this award scheme is 1 February 2011.
