We warmly invite candidates to apply for our MPhil and PhD degrees in the Centre of Canadian Studies. Founded in 1975, the Centre of Canadian Studies at Edinburgh is internationally recognised as the lead centre for the study of Canada in the UK.
Postgraduate students in Canadian Studies at Edinburgh are fully integrated into a vibrant, interdisciplinary research community. Our students are international and come to the Centre from a wide range of disciplines. Some focus solely on Canadian material, others place Canadian research in a comparative context, often with joint supervision by Canadian experts associated with the Centre.
Students, staff and visiting scholars meet together in the Centre at our regular Open Research Seminars and International Conferences. Postgraduates at the Centre also have the opportunity to undertake teaching assistantships at the Centre.
Located at the heart of Scotlands capital close to the new Scottish Parliament, the National Library of Scotland and a range of cultural venues the Centre of Canadian Studies is a lively place to carry out postgraduate study.
Do check out the Postgraduate pages on the Centres web site or contact the Director of the Centre to discuss your application: DirectorofCanadianStudies@ed.ac.uk .
