School of Social and Political Science: Graduate school

"The course is very rich in terms of content, materials and relevance. I particularly enjoyed sharing experiences with colleagues from nearly all continents and our discussions on different perspectives of international development in Africa. The help provided by the faculty was amazing too. I enjoyed the course a lot."

"The course has given me lots of new knowledge and helped me to consider international development from a more critical perspective. The levels of support from the academic and technical teams were excellent. I felt that if I have a query they were always readily accessible to answer it."

"I have gained a lot from the readings, the lectures and the online discussions, which helped me to acquire a deeper understanding of the issues."

"I enjoyed the course immensely. Some of the highlights were the virtual classroom sessions, where we were able to interact with fellow students and have good discussions on the course material we had covered in the previous weeks. I found these discussions enriching as they brought breadth and depth to the thinking I had done on the course material. Another highlight was the final essay. Although this was quite a difficult task for me, as I am used to writing scientific papers, not social science ones, I found that the flexibility of this course allowed me to explore a particular subject of interest to me, and study this subject closely while having the support of mentors to develop the ideas."
