Social Theory Reading Group

The Social Theory Reading Group is intended to provide a space where people with an interest in reading and discussing any and all aspects of social theory can meet, usually on a fortnightly basis. The group is open to people with such interests without any restriction. Readings are selected based on member interest and everyone is given a chance to propose what they would like the group to read.

During the past year we have looked at texts by Karl Mannheim, David Harvey, Charles Taylor, Reymond Geuss, Ernesto Laclau and many others.

If you are interested in participating keep an eye out for a fortnightly email circulated around SPSS or, alternatively, contact Leonidas Tsilipakos ( or Stephen Kemp (
