These MSc programmes are created and delivered by staff from the Global Public Health Unit. They offer a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of public health problems, incorporating a distinctive focus on policy. They provide for specialisation in policy areas relevant at national and global levels, and across low-, middle- and high-income countries. Students engage with the research and public policy expertise of GPHU staff through taught courses, directed self-study, and discussion. In this way they gain the knowledge, research skills, and analytic expertise to respond to the challenges confronting public health today.

Most of GPHU's teaching is at postgraduate level, which means that we are focused on the needs of postgraduate students. Our research activities directly inform our innovative postgraduate teaching.
