What we are reading

The study of nationalism is interdisciplinary, and so is our reading. The Edinburgh University Library is well-stocked to support our programme, including subscriptions to many relevant e-journals. The lists below give a sense of the kinds of stuff you will read with us, and ideas for preliminary reading.

These single author overviews of the subject are good places to start (the first two are by core staff in the MSc in Nationalism Studies):

Maleševic, S. (2013) Nation-States and Nationalisms, Polity.

Özkirimli, U. (2010) Theories of Nationalism: A Critical Introduction, Macmillan, Second Edition.
