School of Social and Political Science: Graduate school

Community Activities

MSc students are encouraged to be active members of our vibrant community of scholars, participating in regular STIS research seminars and workshops given by postgraduate students and visiting scholars in both the department and the wider School of Social and Political Science.

We also organize a number of extracurricular activities for postgraduate students that bring to life ideas and theories discussed in class. In previous years these have included walking tours of Edinburgh, a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Museum of Scotland, a visit to the Scottish Parliament, excursions to art exhibitions, and outings to events at the Bioethics Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Science Festival.

There is also a lively social programme organised by students that makes use of the amenities Edinburgh has to offer.
