The evolution of EU anti-money laundering measures: discussing the role of EU actors in political and legal norms devising
My research project is looking to contribute to the characterisation the European Union through an analysis of its actions and policies in relation to international criminal activity.
The overall objective is to assess and classify the communitarisation of criminal law taking into consideration the actors which were involved in the decision-making process, the Commission's influence and the level of importance attributed to the protection of the internal market.
The evolution of anti-money laundering measures in the EU will help to clarify the EU's position and the degree of, not only international influence, but also the role of member states within the common decision-making process.
