PhD Research
Working Title: Public-Private Partnerships in the European Union: Understanding the emergence and promotion of an infrastructure policy
My interest lies in the increasing use of private finance in the procurement of public infrastructure and public service delivery via public-private partnerships (PPP). In my PhD I try to gain an understanding about why the community bodies of the European Union endorsed the policy quite early and what factors influenced the preference formation of actors on the EU level toward this position. Further I try to find out what effect the EU involvement had on the uptake of PPPs on member state level.
