The European Commission, Migration and the External Dimension: A Study of Organisation
My thesis, which I submitted in April 2012, examines how the European Commission incorporated and implemented migration policy as part of the European Union's external relations, also known as the external dimension of migration. I employ organisational sociology to study how the Directorates-General (DGs) involved in the external dimension of migration have made sense of policy responsibilities, and analyse the implications that divergences between them have on migration policy processes and output.
