Working PhD Title: Fiscal policy co-ordination in times of financial crisis
Research Interests: My thesis has grown out of an interest in issues that highlight the growing challenges of policy co-ordination in Economic and Monetary Union. In particular I want to give an answer to the question why fiscal policy co-ordination in times of financial and economic crisis is failing. Addressing this problem I will employ both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Supervisors: David Howarth and Iain Hardie
Awards (funding and merit): From 2006 to 2009 I was a member of the German National Academic Foundation who also funded my studies in Scotland. I have been awarded the University of Edinburgh’s College scholarship and am one of the two Sir Bernard Crick Fellows 2009/2010. Since March 2010 the German National Academic Foundation funds my PhD.
