Workshops, Training and Events
Workshops are open to all staff and students in the School of Social and Political Science only, unless stated otherwise.
Throughout the academic year, the SDO offers a wide range of academic and professional development workshops.
These interactive sessions, led by experienced tutors and guest speakers, are tailored for different levels of study, allowing students to select the level of expertise most appropriate to their interests and needs.
Workshops are open to all SSPS staff and students, with the suggested level of study noted beside each workshop.
Three Minute Thesis

Audience: Open to all students and staff, friends and family of the competitors are welcome.
Event: Three Minute Thesis: School of Social and Political Science Heat
Date and time: 14 March 2018, 10.30-12.00noon. Doors open 10.00 am.
Come and support the PhD students participating in the University of Edinburgh's Three Minute Thesis School of Social and Political Science Heat.
Get involved and cast your vote for the People's Choice Award for best presentation as the judges deliberate who will go through to the College Heats.
This event is sure to be interesting, educational and entertaining.
This event starts sharply at 10:30 am.
Food and refreshments provided.
Tickets open to all students and staff, friends and family of the competitors are welcome.

The Careers Service runs many different initiatives to support your career planning and development. All events are listed on My Career Hub.
The Counselling Service offers workshops on a variety of topics. These are held in the Main Library and are open to all students.
Wellbeing Presentations, delivered to groups of up to 20 students, offer short introductions to different topics. Each session lasts for one hour and includes small group discussions and individual exercises for reflection and practice. Further resources are available at the end of the session if you would like them.
