Climate Change and Parental Duties
Dr Elizabeth Cripps
I am investigating the intersect between special parental duties (what parents owe to their own children) and duties of climate justice. In particular, I defend the claim that parents have special shared duties - duties over and above those we all have - to act on climate change mitigation and adaptation. I am also investigating whether individual parents owe it to their children to introduce them to a 'green' lifestyle, and looking to explore the implications of these duties for the tension between global justice and legitimate parental partiality.
