Statistical inference is central to the scientific process. The past several years have included important debates about appropriate approach to inference, with intense scrutiny applied to the routine use of P values. Where did P values come from? Why are they controversial? What is a "Bayes Factor"? What should we be teaching our students? Taya's Q-step presentation will attempt to answer these questions, and provide space for discussion.
