British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

Application Process and Deadlines

STEP 1 - OUTLINE STAGE

In order to ensure proposals are as strong as possible, the School will be conducting a review of draft proposals at the end of August. A review panel will take a decision on whether the School will support applications; provide feedback to candidates to improve their proposals; and ensure candidates are matched with suitable peer reviewers as they work further on their proposal.

The School deadline for this internal review is 18th August. If you wish to apply for this scheme please send your draft application (print out form submission online system e-Gap) to ssps.research@ed.ac.uk by this date. Applicants will receive feedback by September 2017, allowing them plenty of time to work further on their proposals for the October deadline.

However, we strongly encourage all applicants to contact prospective mentors as soon as possible, and work closely with them in developing their application.

The applicant can also then update information on publications, research experience, contact details etc.

Note: applicants must complete their viva before 1st April 2018 as the board will not give any conditional awards.
