SKAPE-Net is an international network funded by the Institute of Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) and the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh. It is organised by Christina Boswell, Sotiria Grek, Fadhila Mazanderani, Martyn Pickersgill and Steve Yearley Ė all members of SKAPE.
The goals of SKAPE-Net are to work with a group of outstanding early, mid-career and senior international researchers and higher education institutions in order to prepare collaborative grant proposals; co-produce high-quality academic publications; and support scholar visits and exchanges.
SKAPE-net had its first meeting in October 2014 and discussed collaboration within two broad themes : (a) Monitoring and Governance investigates how new forms of performance measurement are affecting policy-making and international governance; (b) Democratisation of Knowledge explores new patterns of citizen engagement in producing knowledge for policy.
It is envisaged that SKAPE-net will develop a social media platform for networking and dialogue between researchers and practitioners working on SKAPE themes. It will exploit existing media platforms and explore options for developing a new, bespoke platform for SKAPE-Netís members.
