I am working as a postdoctoral Research Associate on the ESRC-funded Olive Schreiner Letters Project with Prof. Liz Stanley (Principle Investigator, Edinburgh University), Dr. Helen Dampier (Co-Investigator, Leeds Metropolitan University), Prof. David Shepherd (Co-Investigator, HRI, University of Sheffield), Ms. Sarah Poustie (holder of the Edinburgh-based Project ESRC PhD Studentship), Ms. Kathy Rogers (Technical Officer, HRI, University of Sheffield) and Dr. Kiera Chapman (Project Data Developer, HRI, University of Sheffield). Please see the Project website for further information:

Over the past two years, I have been involved in organising the ESRC Seminar Series on Narrative Studies in Interdisciplinary Perspective in association with the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Narrative & Auto/Biographical Studies (NABS). Continuing this association with the Centre for NABS, the Olive Schreiner Letters Project will organise a series of national seminars on 'Epistolarity in Social Science Research’, starting in late 2009, and an international conference on 'Epistolarity and the Analysis of Social Change' will be held towards the end of the Project, in September - November 2011. The Project will also run a series of training workshops on electronically publishing social science data and also, relatedly on analysing letters and other textual data using project-specific VREs, in the third year of the project.
