Graham Spinardi originally graduated in Ecological Science at Edinburgh University before doing a PhD in the sociology of technology at the Science Studies Unit. His research over the years has included work on electronic data interchange, environmental innovation, and the exploitation of inventions, but his core interest remains military technology. He is currently working on post-war radar development in the UK.
