The deadline for submitting special circumstances forms for Semester 2 Honours courses and assessments is the 15th of May 2017. For non-honours courses the deadline is the 1st of June 2017.
If you feel that something beyond your control such as a medical or personal issue is exceptionally having a negative effect on your coursework and assessment performance, and you have evidence of this, you can ask us to take these circumstances into consideration when we are making decisions about your assessment results, progression, or degree classification. You should do this by consulting with your Student Support Officer and submitting a Special Circumstance Form (SC Form) with supporting evidence to us.
Special Circumstances forms can be submitted at any time during the semester but must be received within 7 days of the date of your last assignment of the semester. If your circumstance was specific to a single assignment you may wish to submit the SC form just after the assignment was due. However, if the circumstances are ongoing or likely to recur or affect you again later in the semester it would be best to submit the SC form at the end of the semester. By then you will have a better idea as to how much any of your courses or assignments may have been impacted.
The deadline for submitting special circumstances forms are:
- Semester 2 honours (year 3 and 4) courses - 15th May
- Semester 2 non-honour (year 1 & 2) courses - 1st June
If you are an undergraduate student studying for a degree in the School of Social and Political Science, please submit your form directly to your student support officer.
