Award Structure

Each award runs very similarly and is divided into 3 parts:

Part 1 – Developing skills: 25 Hours

  • Completion of 20 hours of skills workshops
  • 5 hours of reflection

Part 2 – Impact/Knowledge exchange project: 30 Hours

  • Lead a project where you will have an impct/share knowledge (depending on award)
  • Submit 200-300 words outlining the project idea - due by Input 2
  • Submit a 200-300 word summary of your delivered Project with and additional 500 word reflective essay about your skills development through organising your project - due by Input 3
  • Submit a summary of how you spend your 30 hours over the duration of the award.

Input sessions:

  • Input 1 – Beginning of award
    • GA Skills and 750 word Reflection
  • Input 2 – Midway point
    • GA Skills and 750 word Reflection
  • Input 3 – at end of award
    • GA Skills and 750 word Reflection

Further requirements:

  • A minimum of 14 skills hours must be from SDO run workshops.
  • All workshops that could toward the awards must not be academically focused, there may be slight cross over, if you are not sure please check with the SDO.
  • If attending workshops out with the SDO then proof of attendance is required and this should be sent to: ssps.student-development@ed.ac.uk
