Description
The process of engagement with external collaborators raises ethical questions which are important to address in their own right, but also for the light they shed on what ethical research means in itself.
- Where projects involve co-creation with a community, how do we ensure a partnership which is equitable rather than exploitative?
- Where we share our knowledge with those in positions of power, what guarantee can we have that they will use it appropriately?
- Where research is built on partnerships with influential stakeholders, how can we safeguard our own independence?
In this workshop, SSPS academics with deep experience of engaged research will challenge us with their lessons and insights, opening up a discussion of the braiding of ethics and impact.
