This page provides guidance on developing new MSc programmes and on the approval process.
Information on how to propose a new course, the approval path and what is required by the Board, is available on the new courses page.
To begin, please have a look at the quick start guide provided by the College.
If you are considering developing a new programme, you should first of all talk to the following people:
- your Head of subject area / centre
- other Programme Directors in your subject area / centre
- the Director for Learning and Teaching and the Head of Teaching and Student Services
The approval process
Please discuss the timescale of the approvals process with the Secretary to the Board including the College approval stage. Note that College does not accept new programmes for approval after March, and that the School strongly recommends that programmes are on the books and open to applicants at least a year before the start date.
Documents needed for formal approval
The College now have a Sharepoint site dedicated to the development of new programmes. There is a programme proposal template that must be completed, a link to the template and a great deal of other helpful guidance.
Please note that you may not receive instant access to this site. You may need to request access but you should automatically be redirected to a specific request page.
