PhD title: Sustainable clothing practices: the take-up of, reintroduce, and persistence of the practices in a consumption-orientated consumer society
My research adopts a social practice approach that studies the role community-organised mending and sewing workshops play as the infrastructure where sustainable clothing practices are taken up and reintroduced back to society. The study explores how the elements of sustainable clothing practices, i.e., materials, meanings and competences, are entwined and how the connection between the elements influences the development of the practices in a consumer society.
