Postgraduate Workshop in Political Theory

This is the first event organised under the aegis of a recently established European Network in Social and Political Philosophy. Its founding members are Magali Bessone from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Robin Celikates and Stefan Gosepath from Freie Universität in Berlin, Helder De Schutter and Eszter Kollar from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and Mihaela Mihai from the University of Edinburgh.

This postgraduate workshop features presentations by a select group of PhD students from these four universities who will be focusing on methodological issues in political philosophy.

Presenters:

  • Emile Ike (Berlin) - The Critique and Crisis of Work: Revitalizing Objective Possibility as a Category for Immanent Critique.
  • Thijs Keulen (Edinburgh) - Theorizing with a Democratic Sensibility: ‘Doing’ Democratic Theory with On-Demand Couriers in the Gig-Economy.
  • Marie Bastin (Paris) - Putting the Theories of Justice in Dialogue with the Social, Economic and Legal Sciences: Necessity and Difficulties for the Case of Fair Inheritance.
  • Claudia Galgau (KU Leuven): Theorizing the Migrant as a Social Position
