The School of Social and Political Science is always keen to attract and promote the careers of the best early career scholars. Please get in touch if you are completing or have recently completed your PhD and are contemplating a postdoctoral research fellowship (PDRF). We welcome approaches both from our current doctoral students and from those studying elsewhere.
We have well developed policies and procedures to support new researchers in developing successful PDRF funding applications and supporting fellows, once funded, through active mentoring and research support and a lively research culture across the School.
Guidance on applying
- general guidance and the School approval process
- specific help on the following schemes: ESRC, (including applying though Je-S), British Academy, and Leverhulme
SPS requires a mentor (SPS core staff) for all early-career fellowships. To apply, you must first identify, contact and have an agreed mentor for your proposed project application. The project must have Head of Subject Area approval. Your mentor can help to obtain this before submitting your application to the School.
The SPS Research Office welcomes any questions on post-doctoral research fellowships and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
