Description

Presented in collaboration with the Citizenship Migration Research Network (CMRN) as part of the Race, Power and Social Policy course, this special screening of Everybody to Kenmure Street is open to all university staff and students.

In May 2021, a dawn immigration raid in Glasgow sparked a 8-hour blockade by thousands of ordinary citizens protecting their neighbours. Winner of the Sundance Special Jury Award for Civil Resistance, this gripping documentary celebrates the power of everyday solidarity. Following the film, Idil Akinci and Cetta Mainwaring will host an discussion with two of the key organisers featured in the documentary.

At a time when immigration remains heavily weaponised in political debate, come along to discuss these issues in the company of the Edinburgh community, soft drinks and snacks will be provided!
