Description
In this conversation with Amnesty International’s Iraq research Razaw Salihy, we will explore the politics and implications behind proposed amendments to the Iraqi Personal Status Law. What does this politics tell us about the role of various political actors in Iraq today, including women groups, activists, political parties, and the religious establishments? And what does it tell us about the traction of sectarian politics? What are the implications on the role of the state in organizing people’s daily lives in Iraq?
