This talk develops the concept of viral debt to highlight the relational nature of financial obligations and to pinpoint the conditions that amplify the speed at which those debts spread. The research explores how debt spreads between individuals and communities – and in so doing depends on existing vulnerabilities, even as it creates new ones.
