Dr Davide Vampa from the School of Social and Political Science (SPS) will become lead editor of Regional and Federal Studies from 1 October 2024.
Dr Vampa, Senior Lecturer in Territorial Politics and Co-Director of the Centre on Constitutional Change at SPS, will lead an international editorial team of colleagues from Edinburgh and beyond. The team includes Professor Meryl Kenny (University of Edinburgh, Deputy Lead Editor), Dr Asanga Welikala (University of Edinburgh), Dr Mariely López-Santana (George Mason University) and Professor Assefa Fiseha (Addis Ababa University). Dr Mattia Zulianello (University of Trieste) will join the new team as an Associate Editor.
Regional and Federal Studies is a leading academic forum for research on comparative territorial politics, regionalism, federalism, subnational research, and multi-level governance crossing substantive, thematic, geographical, theoretical, and methodological boundaries.
Dr Vampa said: “We are thrilled to take up the editorship of this internationally renowned journal (and to have) the opportunity to build on the excellent work of previous editors, with a renewed focus on expanding the journal’s global reach, diversifying its contributions, and aligning with its vision to push the boundaries of territorial politics research. The journal’s new home at the Centre on Constitutional Change, a hub for innovative scholarship, makes Edinburgh a fitting base to foster this next chapter of growth.”
