SPS academic becomes Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences

School of Social and Political Science (SPS) academic Professor Meryl Kenny has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
The Academy of Social Sciences is the national academy of academics, practitioners and learned societies in the social sciences. Professor Kenny, a professor of gender and politics at SPS, is one of 45 new fellows for 2024, who are drawn from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines and professions. They span a range of expertise including urban governance and public policy; health technology assessment; hunger and food insecurity; migration and forced displacement; and international law.
Professor Kenny said: “I’m honoured to become a Fellow of the Academy, which recognises the crucial role that social sciences have to play in not only understanding social and political inequalities, but in addressing their causes and consequences.”
