School of Social and Political Science student Omar Loera has been awarded the 2019–2021 Carlos Fuentes Award, for his outstanding academic achievements and research contributions to the social sciences during his PhD.
Omar won the Social Sciences category for contributions made during his PhD thesis, 'Making sense of Mexico's place in the world: A role theoretical analysis of Mexico's place in the world'.
Omar said: “This award would not have been possible without the permanent support of the SSPS community, with which I have the privilege to interact in my role as postgraduate student representative. My supervisors Julie Kaarbo and Mark Aspinwall, along with my friends at the Politics and International Relations department are a vital part of this experience.”
Congratulations, Omar!
