Fellowship from RSE studying Scotland and COP26
This year I have a 12-month full-time fellowship from the Royal Society of Edinburgh to study the role of Scotland, as a devolved nation, in shaping the processes and outcomes of COP26.
I will be travelling to Glasgow most days between 1-12 November to attend a series of events put on by the organisations I am studying:
- Scottish Parliament
- Scottish Government
- WWF Scotland
- Friends of the Earth Scotland
- Fridays for Future Scotland
- 2050 Climate Group
A former Edinburgh MSc student, Rowena Waldron, has joined me on this project as a research assistant. She will be focusing on the two youth-oriented groups mentioned above (the final two in the list).
Pilgrimage for COP26
Additionally, I am participating in the Pilgrimage for COP26 – walking, reflecting, and pondering with this group from South Queensferry to Glasgow in advance of COP26 (26-29 October). In all of my research, I will be seeking to understand people’s goals for what they seek to achieve in relation to COP26, and what their measures of success will be.
