Juliette joined the university in April of 2021 as Research Fellow. Her current research interests and expertise centre around the urban food system, exploring the changing character of urban retail development and informal production and distribution of food in contemporary Africa.
Juliette holds a PhD in African Studies from the University of Edinburgh. The focus of the research was on the delivery mechanisms needed to ensure food provisioning in Nairobi, exploring the continuity of micro retailers of fresh food in the context of increasing supermarketisation. She also holds a MSc in Development Planning and Administration from University College London.
