Background

Lukas Lehner is an Assistant Professor at the University of Edinburgh.

His research investigates social policies in a changing world of work with a focus on unemployment, inequality, and worker bargaining power.

He obtained his PhD from the University of Oxford in 2024. Previously, he worked for the OECD Chief Economist and the ILO.

His research was recognized by several awards including the Best Paper Award in Social Policy at the University of Oxford and the ESRC Prize for Outstanding Early Career Impact. His work has been featured by The New Yorker, Financial Times, CNN and Nature in print and by ARTE, ARD, and ZDF on TV.
