Description

This workshop is designed to suit 2nd year students at The University of Edinburgh, however is open to all Undergraduate levels of study.

2nd year typically brings an increased case load and with this greater pressure to succeed. Students need to adapt to changing workloads, variable teaching styles and deal with different personalities in group activity. Resilience, adaptability and the capability to maintain a positive outlook will be key to both academic achievement and wellbeing. This course is designed to develop a growth mindset in students.

Drawing on their own experiences of university life, students will build self-awareness of their natural response to change and how to improve this through positive reflection. They will learn to view challenges as opportunities for learning and acquire strategies for adapting to changing environments and priorities. This content will provide a solid foundation for their future academic journey.

Learners will understand:

• How to develop a growth mindset by seeing challenges as opportunities for learning.
• How to adapt to changing circumstances using the Change Curve
• How to build resilience in the context of a growth mindset.
