Ideas Generator: Your Dissertation

Year of Study
PGT/PGR PhD
14 March 2022
17:00 - 19:00

Description

This workshop is all about encouraging you to explore your creativity and reflect deeply on the impact you want to make via your research and dissertation. The session will likely be most useful for PG students at the start of the dissertation process.

We will use a divergent thinking model to help you break down the barriers we all put in our own way when exploring new ideas and opportunities. Through a series of exercises, you will be supported to identify the idea you want to progress and begin the process of making it happen. This 90-minute workshop is all about leaving your pre-conceptions at the door and immersing yourself in a new way of thinking.

  • Participants will be introduced to a transformative approach to ideas generation based on design thinking.
  • Participants will be encouraged to generate multiple ideas before interrogating their value, impact and robustness.
  • Participants will then select the idea they would like to progress and will be supported to plan how to bring this to fruition.
  • Participants will leave with a new perspective on generating ideas and how these can be brought together for a dissertation or research.

Note: This is an evening event
