Ciaran Fitzpatrick is an On-Screen Journalist and Presenter for ITV News Meridian, based in the Thames Valley and the South, reporting on an area with over 8 million people. He graduated with 2:1 in Modern History & Politics at the University of Liverpool in 2017, garnering the top 3 grades for his dissertation on Brexit and why the media's reporting on Immigration impacted the vote. Here, he was an Editor at The Tab Liverpool and his interest in political affairs began.

He then graduated with a Distinction at City, University of London in an MA Broadcast Journalism, before working at ITV News, 5 News, Euronews and NBC News - moving into regional news to begin his on air career; covering various ITV regions from Central in the Midlands, to Border for Cumbria & Scotland and now Oxford for ITV Meridian in the South.

Covering multiple PM resignations, the Queen's Death, HS2 cancellation, the King's Coronation, the 2024 Election, 2024 Budget...the list goes on. Top political interviews include Rishi Sunak, David Cameron, Jeremy Hunt, Greta Thunberg to name a few, among a whole host of local MPs and Council leaders - past and present.

A passion for storytelling, giving a voice to voiceless and real people -Ciaran's big investigations include no-fault evictions, the carer's allowance crisis and many other exclusive stories, and will be reporting for national ITV News this Summer as part of an attachment.

Outside of political reporting, he can be often found outside of court, covering some tragic murder trials or in wellies knee-deep in flood water. Ciaran will cover how his politics degree influences his work every day, how you can get into TV journalism, and how to utilise social media to get to where you want to be.
