Tech & Tools: Choosing from Over 1000 Options
Venue
OnlineDescription
In recent years, several digital tools have been released that are specifically designed to assist the research process. These include online platforms for finding and collating the relevant literature, sites to boost your online profile and attract attention for your research outputs, project management tools and writing productivity. This vast array of (approximately 1,000) tools can be overwhelming and time-consuming to learn so how do researchers know what to use?
This workshop will introduce researchers to a selection of tools that can complement the research process including aspects such as literature searching, project management, profile visibility, interaction and collaboration. Additional resources and information are also provided so that participants can explore other tools in their own time and everyone is encouraged to share and recommend resources. A key component of the workshop includes the opportunity for participants to use the ElectvTM tool matrix to design their own digital strategy based on their individual working style and preferences.
The workshop will include short demonstrations, case studies, group discussions and examples from the instructor’s own experience.
