Writing skills to take you from A-Z

09 March 2022
14:00 - 16:00

Description

This workshop will provide you with a toolkit of writing skills and good habits to help you through your dissertation. We’ll discuss the following topics:

  • Good writing relies on a basic understanding of grammar and how words fit together. We’ll examine some basic guidelines and rules of constructing well-written sentences and paragraphs, using good (and bad) examples of academic writing.
  • The first draft of your writing will always benefit from editing to turn it into the final, polished version. Editing needs feedback and the first person to provide that feedback is you, the writer. You’ll learn how to view your own writing objectively and become an effective critic.
